Like many towns in the Cadiz province, Algar is also a Pueblo Blanco or white village, although it is individually famous for its caves in the area. Algar’s major industry, like many in the surrounding villages, is cattle farming and agriculture. But also commendable is its manufacture of handicrafts made of leather and wood.
