The Watch Tower is a holdover from antiquity. It was built in the 16th century by the Christians, as a lookout point against invaders and pirates.
The Church of Santa Maria de la Meza is an old church showcasing baroque architecture, particularly in the altarpiece inside.
Of course, the centerpiece of Zahara is the Moorish castle built in the 7th century. This is certainly a must-see.
Outside of the town, Puerto de Las Palomas (“Port of Doves”) is another interesting place to visit. This site is elevated which makes it a good place for hang gliding.
Monuments that are worth visiting include the Capilla de San Juan de Letrán (“Chapel of St. Juan de Letrán”), the Necrópolis, and the Torre del Reloj.
