Camping along the river, fishing and hunting for deers, rabbits and game birds are popular activities in this town. Mount Taillo, which is said to have the most breathtaking view among the mountains of Cadiz, is a favored destination for mountain climbing lovers. The Eco-Museum for the Parque Natural de la Sierra Grazalema is also found in this town. Looking every bit an authentic mountain village with its ancient street pavings, street and corner landscapes, the town of Benaocaz belongs to the famous Pueblos Blancos route. It has preserved an old Nazaritic Hebrew quarter of the town, declaring the section a historical monument.
For an architectural tour of the city, one can start with its churches like the Iglesia Parroquial de San Pedro Apóstol built in the 16th century and the Ermita de San Blas as well as the Ermita del Calvario both built in the 18th century. The town hall or Ayuntamiento also dates back from the 18th century. Around the Ayuntamiento and the Castle Square, one can find stately houses and mansions. The Castillo de Aznalmara in Tavizna which was built in the 13th century, served as an old defense structure for the town.
