Spared in 1755 from a strong earthquake that shook and destroyed neighboring towns in Andalucia, Chipiona celebrates annually, in November, its tradition of thanksgiving by setting up colorful parades.
In July, watch the procession of Virgen del Carmen. It’s a thanksgiving procession among fisherfolks; and in August, the “Festival of the Grapes” for a fruitful harvest.
