Its castle on top of one of its hills does not only become a popular tourist attraction because of its panoramic view but the historical value it holds. Once used as a fortress, it is today a landmark of a town that continues to blossom under the Spanish skies.
Iglesia de la Encarnacion has one of Andalucia’s most significant museums. This, and the other imposing structures in Olvera that have historical significance, earned the town its title as Centre for Arts and History. The title was conferred to Olvera by the government in 1983.
