Leatherworks
The leather industry in this town was a spill-over from the town of Ubrique which prides itself with its artistry in making leather goods. The demand was high at that time and additional labor had to be found. The locals of Prado learned about this and soon this new industry found its way to every house in Prado. As time progressed, leatherwork has become the main preoccupation of the people there and today, about 60 factories are found in the area. It has become the chief livelihood of the people in the region.
Apicultural Production
With a climate very suitable for growing flowers which are sources of pollen for the bees, this town is the chief producer of honey and some derivatives.
Masonry and carpentry works on furniture of rustic designs are also becoming popular in this town.
Tourist Sector
Due to its proximity to equally important towns of Seville, Cadiz, Grazalema, Jerez and Sherry, Prado of the King is never left-out in a tourist’s itinerary. Aside from its proximity and accessibility to fast and convenient transportation system, this town considers its tourism a major source of yearly revenues.
