Cadiz is considered as the Pearl of the Atlantic perhaps due to its attractiveness and beautiful natural and local ports. Historically Cadiz is also attractive to the eyes of conquerors due to its location thus it explains the several culture that you can see in Cadiz culture; from Visigoth, Romans, Phoenicians, Greeks and Moors- they all left a legacy in Cadiz culture. And that fact made it very interesting to visit little villages and towns in Cadiz. Can you spot the difference? Can you spot which culture is which?

Cadiz is the oldest city still existing in Europe and it has so many to offer. It is the launching point for most of the great voyages that the world history will read about. The historical background of the people made them so friendly and warm. That alone is an attraction in its self already. The fun nature of the Cadiz people named Gaditano made every Cadiz travel activities an enjoyable one for the guests and the locals.

People also visit Cadiz for its carnival. One of the colorful and liveliest in Europe. The locals have a great participation of the said festival. Costumes and masks are of varied design. Expect the streets to be filled with both spectators and participants.

One of the must see in Cadiz is their provinces. In the north of Cadiz found the province of Sherry triangle. The corners are marked by the three towns—these three towns are surrounded by the producers of brandy and sherry of which their wine cellars can be visited. The Jerez de la Frontera is famous because of its sherry. It is also famous because of its equestrian tradition—Jerez de la Frontera is designated as the home of flamenco. Another interesting province to visit in Cadiz is the province of Pueblos Blancos. What makes this province unique, because of its unique beauty and stunning location.—it is located in the hilltops, dotted with whitewashed houses clustered around the ruined castle.

The Costa de la Luz or the Coast of the Light is known as the Atlantic shoreline of Cadiz province. It has been abounding with wild and pristine beaches. Since this province features strong winds Costa de la Luz has been famous as the windsurf center in Europe. And because Costa de la Luz is nearby to the Strait of Gibraltar, it is ideal place for bird watching especially during the migration period between Europe and Africa. The province of Medina Sidonia is pristine town, famous as little ancient hill-top town. Medina Sidonia is one of Spain’s most significant ducal seats during the 15th century. The name of the province was bequeathed from the family of Guzman El Bueno due to his courageous role in taking the province. The provinces of San Fernando and Grazalema and Alcornocales are also some of the must see provinces of Cadiz.

The city of Cadiz is the capital of the Cadiz Province. It is known as the oldest city inhabited in the Iberian Peninsula. It has also been appointed as the main home port of the Spanish Navy in the 18th century since the succession of the Spanish Bourbons. Cadiz as well is appointed as the city where the University of Cadiz can be found. But aside from that, there are certain interesting places to see and explore in Cadiz so if you planned to come here for your vacation it would be nice as well that you know where to go in Cadiz.

One of the interesting places to visit in Cadiz is the Arcos de la Frontera. This place is one of the most awesome places with white towns which are abounding with mansions and churches. Arcos de la Frontera is also the place to see the incredible views of the Serrania de Ronda. While the Grazalema which is at the east of Arcos which is located in the similar location approach the village on the A372 from the Ronda, this is the best place to go if you want to have the more incredible views to see. The Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park on the other hand is the park where the small yet amazing Zahara de la Sierra is situated. The village of the Grazalema is also the way to see the park of El Bosque the park is the way to the local river of Majaceite.

On the other hand, at the south of Sierra de Grazalema found the other protected area which is the Alconorcales Natural Park. This park is surrounded with woods like cork oaks and groves. The Alcala de los Gazules is the office of the park—from the office you will have the chance to see the park’s views. Cadiz is not only famous for their pristine and glimmering powders like beaches, but it is also well known due to its natural parks and unique tranquil villages.
