Just recently, the Hollywood stars kick off the street in Cadiz to film their movie which would be launch this year of July. The stars namely Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise will be acting on the action-comedy movie the “Knight and Day”. The municipal government of Cadiz never hesitated to give the producers of the film to get their permit, because they wanted also to promote Cadiz in the tourism industry.

It has been said that due to the economic crisis that the world is now facing, Cadiz tourism industry has been declining compared to the previous years. Due to this, the officials of the region are encouraging more Hollywood makers and stars to do filming in the region, also for the purpose of uplifting Cadiz to the international imagery.

The main goal of Cadiz’s government officials is to get the attention of the holidaymakers to spend their holiday vacation here. In fact, Cadiz has welcomed various movie makers to film here since before. The famous US actor Adrien Brody also ventured his movie here entitled “Manolete”, that was in 2008. Just last year, another international movie actor, Martin Sheen was also doing his movie here entitled “The Way”.

Since the government officials continue to invite and encouraged movie makers to film their movies here, there are expected several movie makers and famous actors and actresses to visit the city soon. The experience is unbeatable and you will never forget what you see and experience during this time. Because Cadiz’s carnival is the most extravagant carnival all over the European countries, due to that millions of tourists are lured to witness the said event every year. The carnival will last for about 10 days or two weeks, so it is advice for you to get your room ahead of time before going here if you do not want to sleep on the street. Booking for an accommodation probably one month before the carnival is necessary.

During the carnival check out the groups of gaditanos or the people of Cadiz, they prepared something for everybody. The gaditanos are interesting because they wander around the streets entertaining the people with their satirized songs. You will be bursts into laughter because the songs are truly funny. Though you cannot totally understand the Spanish language but you can still get into the swing of their jolly songs.

The chirigotas on the other hand usually make improvised locations such like street corners and stairways. With the choirs that are hard to miss you will love how they performed on the streets in open carts which are followed by lutes and guitars. The vibrant color of their costume is magnificent to everybody’s eyes and it is hard not to take some photos of them. The many children that you will see running during the carnival would be more amazing when you found them entertaining in the squares and plazas.

The museum of Cadiz was previously known as the convent of San Francisco; eventually it was renovated in 1838 by Architect Juan Daura. The neoclassical façade that it has is overlooking the Plaza de la Mina which is known to be the vegetable garden once it was still a convent. Historically in 1852, the other part of the building was renovated into a museum to the authorization of the Academy of Fine Arts. But it has been said that it was the discovery of a Phoenician in 1887 that makes the making of the museum. Eventually in 1970 the two museums which are the museum of Fine Arts and Archaeology were merged.

The Cadiz museum is the most visited area in the town, because it is here where all of the evidence that makes the existence of Cadiz is housed and it is here where Cadiz remodeled and stands again on its own way until this recent period of time.
