Casa Domecq
This is the elegant baroque palace of late XVIII building of Jerez de la Frontera. It is an interesting place to see especially the marble decoration on the upper part of the doorway. The palace original was Casa Montana goes back to 1773. When Mr. Cabezas de Aranda Guzman requested for the planning permission to construct his house in saint Sebastian Plain, the town council granted him, that is why he then so-called Casa Domecq or Saint Dominic Plain.
A hereditary family of aldermen ‘The Veinticuatro knights’, who worked for the municipal town council had gave the authorization 3 years later from the day of request in 1776; afterwards the palace construction was on track that year.
The square plan of the building look amazing, the layout appeared to be almost symmetrical. The building was built with stones. The decorative motifs in the façade illustrates control of those from Seville, and the 2 columns so as the arches of the courtyard are made of pink Italian marble that is tremendously appealing.
